Welcome to our website.

We are small home kennel in Iceland, we breeed all colors of miniature schnauzer mosly though white and pepper/salt, we also have Griffon but have not had any litters in that breed yet.

Our first schnauzer was the Giant Schnauzer Tassajara´s Juliet (Julie) that came to us 2002, Julie was imported to Iceland from USA in 2000. Julie was a lovely pet, and for some years she was the only Giant Schnauzer here in Iceland. Her presence around us made our lives happier and she was the reason we got interested in the breed. We soon started to think about importing another bitch and summer of 2003 we found a beautiful 2 year-old bitch for sale at the Tara’s kennel in Romania. Taras Dakota (Dizzy) came to Iceland in October of 2003 and she’s now a loving member of our family and a year later we imported a lovley dog from Russia, Rus Astershvarc Schtirliz "Rússi" and at the sam time we got your first miniature, from the first litter born here in Iceland.

In beginning of the year 2006 or around the same time we lost our giant male (Rússi) tragedy, we decide to use our strength to breed only miniatures and let others breed the giants, because Iceland is a little to small for the serious breeding we liked. So we have now imported few miniatures and more are on the way in the near future, and hopefully we will find more excellent dogs to import, so we can breed these lovely and beautiful dogs in all colors and strengthen this small gene pool that we have here. Our goal is to import only high quality dogs with good temper and champion bloodlines and hopefully we can import more dogs to Iceland that we would be proud off. We know that this will take many years and we are just starting this process.

We live in Mosfellsbć, small town east of Reykjavik (population about 7000), and our dogs live inside the house among us. We also have three children that help us with the dogs and are rased with the dogs. We are member of the Icelandic kennel club (HRFI) and Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) and in July 2004 the FCI gave Fridur permission to use the kennel name Svartskeggs, but Svartskeggs is the name of the pirate Black Beard in Icelandic and in 2008 FCI also gave Thorsteinn permission to use the name Made In Iceland, that name was Fridur first pick when she got the Svartskeggs name but at that time the Icelandic kennelclub didn´t allow any names with Iceland in them.

Fridur is on of starting members of the Icelandic Schnauzer club and now the president of the club and the only breeder in Iceland that breeds all colors. If you have any questions about the breed or our dogs, or if you like to be contact when our next litter is, please send us a message.
